Topics of Discussion
Dr Jay Calvert will be speaking about tip construction and support to make the nose look more elegant and balanced.
His work on tip support is becoming more and more recognized as the long term effects of reconstruction of the nose in secondary rhinoplasty become more evident.
The concepts Dr. Calvert espouses is unique.
His idea is that the tip is not only supported centrally and laterally by the tripod cartilage, but also by the caudal septum and its interaction with the tripod.
This effectively makes tip support a “tetrapod” with the septum helping to determine the rotation and support of the tip positioning.
“I am looking forward to meeting with my colleagues from around the world and learning from them and teaching what I find helpful in secondary and primary rhinoplasty” – Jay Calvert
