Patel regarding the outcomes of tertiary rhinoplasty operations on patients with multiply operated noses who have had previous rib cartilage grafts.
These very difficult operations do result in good outcomes, but the path to patient satisfaction and functional improvement has more bumps in the road than usual.
This article outlines the problems associated with revising rib grafted noses that are not necessarily due to the rib graft itself.
The results showed that these patients can get good results, but there is a 24% chance of needing two operations to achieve satisfaction.
This is not unexpected given the number of previous operations.
