Dr Jay Calvert Rhinoplasty Society President
I am grateful and humbled to serve as President of the Rhinoplasty Society for the year 2019-2020.
This is an honor bestowed upon me by my colleagues in the Rhinoplasty Society that is truly a special gift.
For many years, I have been an active member of the Rhinoplasty Society and I consider it the most important surgical meeting every year.
I do not believe I have missed one since I became a member and I hope to keep that streak going for years to come!
I first was introduced to the executive aspect of the Rhinoplasty society by one of my mentors, Dr Jack Friedland, who was President and asked me to serve as his Parliamentarian.
From that time on, I have been serving on some aspect of the Rhinoplasty Society Executive Committee and have been more than pleased to do so.
After all, the education and opportunities I have had because of my involvement in the Rhinoplasty Society have been extraordinary.

Rhinoplasty Society President Function
Dr Jay Calvert, Rhinoplasty Society President comments on his role as President of the Society:
As President, it is my job to improve the Rhinoplasty Society and leave it better than I found it.
So, the way I am doing this is simple.
I am selecting the best possible committee members to serve the society today and in the future.
I am also pushing for new members and commitment from our current members to keep the society strong and growing.
Though the Rhinoplasty Society is a small group of surgeons, their dedication to the art of rhinoplasty is massive.
You will not find a more creative group of nasal surgeons around.
As such, it is the job of the President to get the full impact of the society.
I do this by talking about the Society, recruiting new members, and elevating the prestige of the Society.
Championing the best surgeons with the best presentations and research makes our society stronger.
In short, the President must lead by example and support others to be the best they can be!

Another key role of the President is to be available for meetings, seminars, and local surgeon education.
It is the duty of the Rhinoplasty Society President to make themselves available for meetings and to speak whenever possible about the society and the good news that is coming from its members.
Thus, as President, I will make all efforts to be at the meetings and help to let potential new members know why they should be a part of this most excellent society. Examples of Dr Jay Calvert’s Rhinoplasty patients
