Enzyme Peel and TCA Peel
We offer Medical Grade Enzyme and TCA Chemical Peels as quick and convenient ways to enhance appearance and self confidence and achieve a healthy glow with little or no downtime.

Peels have been used for decades to revitalize and resurface skin. They involve applying a chemical solution to remove the damaged outer layers of skin and reveal a younger, clearer, more radiant complexion.

Our Enzyme Peel is a PCA Peel®, also known as a “lunchtime peel.” PCA consists of salicylic acid - a beta-hydroxy acid which is found naturally in willow bark, wintergreen leaves, and sweet birch bark. Formulations containing highly concentrated salicylic acid help slough off dead cells and debris while stimulating the skin's natural renewal process. When used for the face, neck and décolletage, these peels help to repair and reduce breakouts, control oil, soften fine lines, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, reduce age spots, and provide a more even, smooth skin texture and coloring. For the hands, body and feet, these peels also slough away rough, callused or “leathered” skin cells to reveal a softer skin layer.

Enzyme Peels may be performed safely on people with olive and light brown skin. They may also be used in some people with dark brown skin, although the risk of discoloration is higher.

Enzyme Peels are traditionally performed on any of the following areas:

  • Face
  • Neck
  • Décolletage
  • Arms
  • Hands
  • Feet
  • Back and shoulders
  • Legs
TCA Peel Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) treats the skin like the Enzyme Peel, but is used when a more aggressive treatment is needed to address the patient’s skin condition. In the RoxSpa, TCA peels are used for medium-depth chemical peeling beyond our Enzyme Peel. Because of the more aggressive concentration and potential for associated uncomfortable skin sensations, the TCA peel requires the patient to have either intravenous sedation or facial blocks.

While the TCA Peel might be needed to treat some patients, our experienced RoxSpa practitioners can let you know if this is an appropriate option for your skin. Newer treatments, such as Pixel Skin Resurfacing may produce similar results without the sedation requirement and more limited downtime.
